Kathmandu, Nepal - October 1984 Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is an ancient city located at around 4500 ft elevation in the Kathmandu Valley in the centre of the country. This image was shot in Shot in Durbar Square, one of the oldest parts of the ancient city. Durbar Square is actually a generic name used to describe plazas and areas located around the old royal palaces in Nepal. The Kathmandu Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Note: Shot 33 years ago, this image is subject to analog photographic quality limitations of its time. However, these images have - I believe - historic and cultural value due to their age, the relatively untouched nature of Nepal at the time, and the subsequent wholesale destruction of many of the spots visited by the October 2015 earthquake.
