Huge Moreton Bay Fig tree at Arderne Gardens, Cape Town, South Africa. This is one of the six Champion Trees in the garden. The Arderne Gardens were established back in 1845 by Ralph Arderne, a successful timber merchant originally from Cheshire, England. This tree is a large evergreen banyan tree of the Moraceae family famous for its beautiful buttress roots.
