An unflattering but possibly true to life 15th century portrait of an ageing Christopher Columbus (1451 – 1506), wearing a turban-like head covering. Some historians have disputed the claim saying that this image represents Paolo dal Pozzo Toscanelli (but who had a rounded nose) and who worked closely with Columbus before his voyage of discovery to America.
