New Irish Farm Military Cemetery, The grave of Lieu Bowes Lyon, cousin to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother


The image is of New Irish Farm Cemetery in Belgium near the city of Ypres. The headstone is that of Lieutenant CLC Bowes Lyon of the Scottish Black Watch Regiment. He was a cousin of Elizabeth Bowes Lyon who became the wife of King George IV. Had he survived the war he would have been related to the King of England.
