Workers at the Goss Plant in Detroit, Michigan, manufacture Army pyramid tents during World War I. In this photo, the workers are seen seaming the cut cloths together. The machine used has a folder that curls the raw edges of the duck fabric, while a tie rope is sewn in the seam. A tag is also attached to indicate the operator responsible for the sewing. This image is part of the collection "Photographs of American Military Activities during World War I."
