A beautiful heart-shaped copse close to the site of Combe Gibbet in West Berkshire. Combe Gibbet itself is a macabre monument erected to display the dead bodies of two lovers in 1676, after they were convicted of murdering one of the spouses, and a son, who discovered the pair on the downs.
