In Hinduism and Buddhism, the Lokapala are guardians of the cardinal directions, commonly refered to as Dikapala or Four Heavenly Kings. Each deity is associated with a specific iconography as well as unique weapons and mudras. Jatulokbal, a composite Thai representation of the Caturlokapala, is often worshipped by those who hold dangerous jobs.
