Anna, daughter of Ivan IV and niece of Peter the Great, briefly ruled the Russian Empire from 1730 until 1740. Despite her brief tenure, Anna led the Russian Empire to victory in two wars, the War of Polish Succession (1733-1735) and the Russo-Turkish War (1736-1739).
