Obese woman, coloured magnetic resonance (MRI) scan. This image is a multi-slice MRI scan where mean channel values were used for non-transparent pixels to create an image like that of an X-ray, highlighting structures such as bone. This frontal, whole-body view, shows the bones of the arms and legs, as well as the skull, backbone and ribs. The extra body weight present in obese patients puts strain on the body's joints.
