Sept. 4, 1842, he left Nau-voo, in company with Joseph A. Strat-ton, en a mission to were gone twenty months, dur-ing which time they baptized about six-ty souls; they returned to Nauvoo May4, 1844, with a company of thirty emi-grating Saints. Soon after his re-turn to Nauvoo, Elder Sheets was calledon another mission, this time to GreatBritain. Together with Elders Jo-seph A. Stratton, Elisha Davis and Meynell, he arrived in , Aug. 24, 1844. He laboredsuccessfully in Lancashire. Herefordshire and Radnorshire, andspent considerable of his time in visit-ing the different branches and encour-aging the Saints. He presided overthe Bradford conference severalmonths and later had charge of theHerefordshire confeience. In return-ing to America, he went as a passen-ger in the ship Liverpool whichsailed from Liverpool, England. , 1846. He was one of the Elders calledhome to receive his blessings in theNauvoo Temple, before the Church leftfor the wilderness; but the companyarrived too late for him to enjoy thatprivilege.
