It carries an excess of dirt, fragments of cottonlimbs, grass or weeds, broken bolls or burrs, broken andfaulty seed, discolorations, gin cuts, naps, immature fibers,and tinges from the soil from which it has been taken,whether black, red, chocolate, gray or sandy lands, as most?of such cotton is usually gathered from the ground, and isoften damp from this exposure. As a nondescript cotton, itcan not be exceeded. It is the lowest in the scale of cottonclassification, and carries all the imperfections that can beintroduced into any class, and is popularly derided as Dogtail, as are
