The report called attention to the fact that required weight was often gained by the simple addition of metal, which did not add to the stiength of the wheel. The committee attached four drawings of wheels which havebeen in extensive use and which have given satisfactory Nos. 1 and 2 are designs for wheels for 60,000 cars, weighing about 585 lbs. Nos. 3 and 4 are forwheels of aliout 600 lljs. weight, and are for use under 100,000lbs. capacity cars.
