Drinking Cup, Middle Kingdom, Dynasty 12–17, ca. 1900–1550 , From Egypt and Sudan, Nubia, Faras, Cemetery 2, Grave 110, University of Oxford Excavations in Nubia 1911–1912, Black incised ware with white filling., h. cm (3 3/16 in); diam. cm (4 15/16 in), This handmade cup was smoothed inside with the fingers, and the outer surface burnished with a smooth pebble. The rim decoration consists of two rings of impressed triangles filled with white pigment, creating a pattern of raised black lozenges
