Plac Krasinskich information plaque about sewer canals in defence of the city's Old Town during the August 1944 Warsaw Uprising


This information plaque is next to a map, with archive photograph, showing the main entry to the sewer system between Old Town to Srodmiescie and Old Town to Soliborz, with a spur to Plac Bankowy, during the 1944 Warsaw Uprising. The plaque reads: 'In this channel, after the heroic defence of the old city's Old Town, passed 5300 insurgents to the north group in 1944.'
