Russell Adams, son of Enoch and Eliza-beth (Russell) Adams, and the paternal grand-father of the subject of this sketch, was born12 May 1788, in Newbury, Mass., but removed to Hill, N. H., in early life, and be-came an extensive land-owner and produce andstock-raiser. He married Susanna Fifield, whowas a daughter of Obadiah Fifield, of Salis-bury, , and one of a family of seven chil-dren; namely, Obadiah, Jonathan, Benjamin,Sally, Polly, Elizabeth, and Susanna. Mrs. Russell Adams were attendants ofthe Christian Baptist Church. They had ninechildren, namely: Gilson; Harrison; Daniel;James; Enoch; Obadiah; Emeline, who died ^^^V^ 1^ ..^Vff-. HENRY E BRAWN. Harrison married MargaretMorse, of Haverhill, Mass. ; and they had twochildren—Charles and George. Daniel diedsingle in 1870. James married Emily Young,and had four children—Ellen, Susan, War-ren, and Martha. Obadiah, who died March14, 1894, married in Jamaica Plain, Mass.,and had one child—Charles E. Emeline(second) died at the age of fourteen years. Enoch Adams, son of Russell and SusannaF. Adams, and the father of Herbert C,married Sejitember 25, 1856, a daughter ofEbenezer and Sylvia (Jennings) Babcock.
