Cassiopeia and Andromeda constellations. Cassiopeia occupies the region at upper centre, and the W-shape of stars represents the throne of the queen in Greek mythology with the same name. The line of three bright stars running from lower left to bottom right form the constellation Andromeda, who in mythology was the daughter of Queen Cassiopeia. At lower centre, between the two, is the elongated smudge of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31), the nearest major galaxy to our own Milky Way. The stars of the Milky Way run through Cassiopeia from left to right, and it contains numerous nebulae (red) and star clusters.
