Protest in front of a branch of Bank of America in New York against mortgage foreclosures

Members of the congregation of the New Day United Methodist Church and supporters protest in front of a branch of Bank of America on E. Fordham Road in the New York Borough of the the Bronx on Thursday, May 20, 2010. Edda Lopez, a member of the church, was facing foreclosure after the Bank of America refused to honor Ms. Lopez' renegotiated mortgage with Wilshire Credit Corp. prior to the bank's acquisition of the mortgage company. The protest called for a stop to Ms Lopez' impending foreclosure, a moratorium on foreclosures in the community and legislation to protect homeowners from banks' predatory lending practices.
