Apollo 13 command module. Museum display of the command module (named Odyssey) used in the Apollo 13 mission to the Moon in April 1970. This mission was aborted mid-flight following the explosion of an oxygen tank. The crew of three were nearly lost, but managed to return safely to Earth in the command module. This display of the original command module is located in the Apollo Gallery, Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center, Hutchinson, Kansas, USA. The module has been on display here since 1998 when it was restored by the museum's Spaceworks team, who reassembled it from over 80,000 separate pieces.
