Lunar eclipse seen in front of the Milky Way. Lunar eclipses occur when the Moon passes into the shadow of the Earth. The larger pink area at lower centre left is the Lagoon Nebula (M8). Above it is the smaller Trifid nebula (M20). Both are emission nebulae. Photographed on 15th June 2011.
