Lamoreaux is a trained lifeguard and native of Meridian, Miss. Columbus Fire Chief Shores presented Lamoreaux with a Citizen Valor Award for saving the child during a monthly proclamation that was held at the Citizens Service Center in Columbus, Ga., April 6. Lamoreaux is currently assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, to 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division.
