Diagnosis.—It is very important to localize the lesion in the conus orin the cauda equina. In the first case operative procedures are impossible,while in the second case they are indicated. Lesions of cauda equina are usually very painful, the pain radiates to-ward the legs, the symptoms develop gradually.
