Tech. Sgt. John Chapman’s name adorns the windshield of the #43 Kroger Chevy/#17 Fastenal Ford before the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 race on May 27, 2018, Concord, North Carolina. Chapman, a Special Tactics operator, was killed in action during the Battle of Takur Ghar on March 4, 2002, while engaging the enemy. He was posthumously awarded the Air Force Cross for unequivocally saving the lives of his entire team.
