Skin smooth andglossy, with a brilliant deep red cheek, contrasting with a lively lemonyellow ground. Stalk of medium length, and deeply inserted. Calyxsmall, sunk in a basin with small plaits. Flesh white, crisp, tender, andj uicy, with a pleasant flavor. The tree has upright, almost black shoots,with small leaves; forms a very upright, small head, and bears its fruitin bunches. The latter is very hardy, and may be left on the tree tillsevere frosts. The Lady Apple is in use from December to May.
