A flintlock pistol for the Oriental market, Augustin Merley-Duon, St. Etienne, circa 1820. Round barrel with smooth bore in 16 mm calibre with a cannon muzzle. Cut floral decoration on the chamber with the crowned mark "AM" stamped on the side (Stöckel No. 787). Flintlock chiselled in relief. Wooden stock with silver wire inlay and silver nose cap. Heavy silver furniture with oriental style trophy decoration in relief. Wooden ramrod with silver tip. Length 51 cm. Augustin Merley-Duon (1789 - 1855) counted as one of the most famous barrel makers in St. Etienne. ,
