Nov. 9 At 8 A* M, Mr. Green and I went on ftiore, to obferve the 1771 Tranfit of Mercury, which came on at 7* ao 58 apparent time, and was obferved by Mr. Green alone ; 1 at this time was taking the Sims altitude in order to afcertain the time*.
