Sunset House Anasazi cliff dwelling, Mesa Verde, Colorado: view E from Sun Point overlook on SW loop of Ruins Road. Sandstone masonry structures built in two levels of a west-facing alcove in the canyon wall below the SE loop of Ruins Road on Chapin Mesa. Rooms on upper ledges were generally used for storing crops. Most cliff houses at Mesa Verde were built in the mid 1200s AD.
