Kingston Riverside is an enormous development on an old power station site in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey, UK. After going to planning and public consultation three times, it was finally allowed to go ahead. Local fears were unsustainable pressure on the immediate environment. Kingston Riverside is a high quality, modern development which includes a 180 bed hotel and penthouse apartments. It is built on the old power station site and dominates the skyline, being visible from Richmond Hill. Kingston is a successful commercial shopping centre which desperately needs more accommodation for visitors to visit. It is an attractive, historic town on the Thames and a popular place to live given its excellent links to Central London by public transport. Property is very expensive due to the local schools which are of a very high standard. This view is shot from a private mooring on the Richmond river bank, from Hampton Wick.
