Portrait of Archibald Campbell, 1st Duke of Argyll, 10th Earl of Argyll (1658-1703), Scottish peer, Extraordinary Lord of Session and Privy Councillor. Campbell was colonel-in-chief of the Earl of Argyll's Regiment of Foot, involved in the infamous massacre of the MacDonalds of Glen Coe in 1692. 'From the original of Sir P.
