A central american green iguana (Iguana iguana). Such animals are commonly hunted and eaten in central and south america where their meat is often known as \bush chicken\". Many have also been taken for the US pet trade - nearly a million were exported to the US in 1995 for captive rearing farms in central america. The species is considered an invasive in Southern Florida and islands such as Fiji and Puerto Rico. The species was one of the first Linnaeus identified and placed in his new binomial latin taxonomy."
