The Athens Roman agora (market) is an archaeological site dating from the 1st century BCE, in central Athens. It includes ruins Hadrian’s Library, the gate of Athena archegetis (chief leader), entrance to a large marketplace with shops, the Tower of the Winds, or Horologion of Andronikos Kyrrhestes, an ancient octagonal tower housing a water clock and a wind vane showing each of the carved wind deities representing a wind direction.
