Headstone at Little Bighorn Battlefield National Park in Montana, marking where Pvt. Thomas Meador was killed on June 26 1876. The headstones mark where the US Army found the bodies months after the battle had ended. Most enlisted men's bodies were interred in a mass grave at the top of Last Stand Hill with the bodies of their horses. Officers were removed from the field and interred in military cemeteries.
