Memorial to the locomotive engine Gladstone from the 1937 film, Oh Mr Porter, in the Hampshire village of Cliddesden, England, UK


Oh, Mr Porter! is a 1937 British comedy film starring Will Hay. Mr Porter is the stationmaster at the fictional Northern Irish town and station of Buggleskelly, and the name of the locomotive in the film is Gladstone. The actual film location was the disused railway station on the Hampshire village of Cliddesden. The Will Hay Appreciation Society unveiled a memorial bench to Will Hay, and the other main actors in the film, Moore Marriott and Graham Moffatt, in October 2018, in Cliddesden, Hampshire, and also this memorial to the engine Gladstone. The memorial was unveiled by Pete Waterman.
