5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Dec. 10, 2016) Marine M1A1 Main Battle Tanks with Tank Platoon, Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 4th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, stage in a defensive posture during Exercise Alligator Dagger, Dec. 10. This security posture creates 360 degrees of defense, covering all sectors of fires. Exercise Alligator Dagger increases the MEU elements’ ability to plan, communicate and execute complex operations, keeping them ready to fight or provide humanitarian assistance at a moment’s notice.
