Burns, Scotland's national poet, was born there on 25 January 1759. 18th-century childhood home of national poet Robert Burns, now a museum with self-guided tours. It sits in the picturesque village of Alloway, with beautful gardens and ample parking. The newly restored thatch roof is in evidence in the photos. At the rear of the cottage is an education centre
