He is heldin high esteem by his employers and as-sociate orticers, and by the people of hisold home here. Tom Sedgwick has carvedfor himself, unaided, a marked success. This gentleman was tor many years aprominent actor in our local af^fairs. Hesettled here in 1857, and was engaged inbusiness here for many years, most ofthe time as a merchant. Mr. Frederickwas a man of great energy and G. W, FREDERICK He held several county and city offices,and gave good satisfaction as an always stood high in the public esti-mation. His health failing, he went toCalifornia in the early eighties, where hestill remains. He has been reasonablyprosperous in that state, and his pictureshows he is reasonably hearty looking. ED, this gentleman died Emporialost one of its best and wisest was the pioneer hardware merchantof the town. We regret that we have nopicture of him. His settlement was made,with his interesting family, in Borton became interested in politicsearly and he retired from the mercantileline. Our lists show that he was severaltimes elected to important county andcity offices, and this does not show allbecause he sometimes served in variousoffices as deputy.
