HE big gathering of NorthwestPacific yachtsmen at Vancou-ver this year promises to bethe most successful in the his-tory of the Northwest Inter-national Yacht Racing Associa-tion. At no time in the pastwere there so many boats incommission, and at no previ-ous period were there so manyclubs in the Association. Re-cently, Nanaimo, B. C, wasadmitted to its privileges, mak-ing the seventh. From time to time other citieswill undoubtedly desire yachting honors, and thestrength of the Association will continue to in-crease. At Vancouver the boys will surely have thetime of their lives, for Secretary Spencer ofthe Vancouver club and the Association, doesnot stint things when it comes to a question ofentertainment. He has a strong club at hisback, the commodore of which, W. E. Graveley,known as the Daddy of Northwest Yachts-men, is as good a being as a trim boat and aspanking breeze can produce.
