THOMAS ALVA EDISON (1847-1931) light bulb inventor - From a 1919 book of cartoon caricatures of famous people of the time by artist Giovanni Viafora (USA) . The talented businessman, invented or developed a variety of innovations , electric power generation, mass communication, sound recording, motion picture cameras, the phonograph, and the electric light bulb. He later established a botanic laboratory in Fort Myers, Florida, in with Henry Ford and Harvey S. Firestone, & a laboratory in West Orange, New Jersey, that featured the world's first film studio, the Black Maria.
