It (loo not. however, penetrate so far to the northward as the -od; lives mainly on soft bottom in fairly deep water, near the coast. It spawns more espwially in ifay ( Kurojie). As regards its distribution in the gulf of St. Lawrence we notice that it is especially numerous about Prince Edward Island and towards Anticosti: always close to land or above the more shallow banks. Ova of Mi-rhiccius were found in considerable quantities on the second cruise of the Acadm, ispecially above the banks of!
