Via Verde is the Adriatic cycle route in Abruzzo connecting the cities of Martinsicuro and San Salvo, passing through Pescara, Francavilla, Vasto and all the municipalities of the Costa dei Trabocchi. It is one of the longest coastal cycling routes in Europe. The Trabocchi are wooden constructions, similar to stilts in the middle of the sea, once used for fishing, belonging to the so-called “traboccanti” who used them to fish while avoiding boats.
