Sgt. Catherine Hamel, a Queens, , native, finishes paperwork to clear out pay agents, April 2. Pay agents are funded with money to pay local nationals who work on the forward operating base. Hamel serves as the non-commissioned officer in charge of disbursing for Detachment A, 8th Finance Battalion, which is attached to the Special Troops Battalion, 1st Sustainment Brigade.
