BRITISH OVERSEAS AIRWAYS CORPORATION AND QANTAS, 1940-1945. - Short 'C' Class Empire Flying Boat, G-AFCZ "Clare" of BOAC, moored at Gibraltar after flying King George of Greece and Sir Stafford Cripps to the colony for a visit. On 12 October 1941, "Clare" made BOAC's first flight to Cairo, routed through Lisbon, Gibraltar and Malta.
