Inchcolm Abbey is the best preserved monastic complex in Scotland. Including cloister and chapter house. The abbey was founded in 1123 by Alexander I, King of Scots. The abbey was abandoned after the Scottish Reformation in 1560, and since used for a range of military purposes, Today it is a looked after by Historic Scotland and can be visited by ferry from South Queensferry,
