A High Bandwidth Special Intelligence - Palletized Terminal was activated by Marines with Combined Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade Intelligence Directorate stationed in Bahrain, May 10, 2017, as part of Exercise Eager Lion 2017 Combined Joint Task Force headquarters at the Joint Training Center in Jordan. HBSI-PT provides dedicated mobile, palletized, team level, and man-packable secure data and voice communications that can receive, transmit and disseminate top secret sensitive compartmented information level bulk data and imagery products from and to national tactical intelligence sources. It is the only deployable communications system that provides dedicated access to intelligence information classified top secret SCI. Eager Lion is an annual Central Command exercise in Jordan designed to strengthen military-to-military relationships between the , Jordan and other international partners. This year's iteration is comprised of about 7,200 military personnel from more than 20 nations that will respond to scenarios involving border security, command and control, cyber defense and battlespace management.
