The Avenue on Portage in Winnipeg, Canada, is an early twentieth century commercial building that's been given a radical makeover by award winning 54687986 Architecture. Prominent aluminium balconies extend 5 to 9 feet beyond the building's south elevation, protruding like a bunch of sculptures from the windows. 5468796 Architecture have just won Canada's prestigious Prix de Rome for architecture and represented the country at the 2012 Venice biennale.
