Forewings: lb furcate, 5 sometimes absent or out of 7, 6 out of 7, 7 to costa, 8 out of 7. Hindwings \, linear, cilia 5 - 7 ; transverse vein absent, 3 sometimes ab- sent, 4 absent, 5 absent. A genus of few species but very general distribution, occurring in Europe, Asia, Africa, N. America, and Australia. Larva mining in leaves. Pupa in a silken cocoon, usually without the mine. Imago with forewings very narrow, long- pointed or caudate. When sitting in the sunshine, the species have a habit of twirling the long antennae with a graceful motion. 1.
