Eye-margins of medium breadth,not pruinose, punctate, with short, yellowish hairs. Occiput greyishpruinose, this colour stopping below the eye; the hairs yellow, abovebesides a few long, black hairs. Antennæ small, brownish red, thirdjoint roundish; arista not long, apparently bare. Thorax æneous blackor posteriorly more bluish black, shining, densely and not quite finely. Chilosia. 167 punctate; it is clothed with relatively short, erect hairs which areyellow, but at the sides more or less mixed with black hairs, and onthe posterior part and scutellum quite or almost quite black, but justin front of scutellum are again yellow are very short supraalar and more con-spicuous postalar bristles, and at the marginof scutellum (generally) short and fine with longish, yellow hairs, at the upperhinder angle of mesopleura a tuft of blackhairs, among which a couple of bristles orbristly hairs. Abdomen rather broad andovate, æneous black, shining but somewhatdull on second and third segments; it is clothedwith not long, yellow or reddish yellow, erecthairs, short on the middle. Venter black,shining, with long, yellow hairs. Legs with c. fratema d^ the femora black with yellow apex, tibiæ yel-low, the anterior with a small, black or blackish ring just below themid
