Scarab Inscribed for Queen Ahmose, New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, early, ca. 1504–1492 , From Egypt, Upper Egypt, Thebes, Sheikh Abd el-Qurna, Tomb of Hatnefer and Ramose (below TT 71), coffin III, burial 2, left hand, 1935–36, Gold, glazed steatite, L. cm (11/16 in.); W. cm (1/2 in.); H. cm (1/4 in.), This ring bezel was found among the hand bones of an unidentified woman who was buried in the tomb of Hatnefer. The inscription on the base reads: The King's Great Wife, Ahmose. Ahmose was the principal queen of Thutmose I and the mother of Hatshepsut
