This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Sentinel-5 satellite in orbit. Illustration of the Sentinel-5 satellite (scheduled for launch in 2021) deployed in Earth orbit. This satellite is scheduled to be carried on the polar-orbiting MetOp Second Generation satellite. The Sentinel-5 mission comprises an Ultraviolet Visible Near-infrared Shortwave (UVNS) spectrometer and data from Eumetsat's IRS, the Visible Infrared Imager (VII) and the Multi-viewing Multi-channel Multi-polarization Imager (3MI). Together with the Sentinel-4 mission, the European Space Agency (ESA)'s Sentinel-5 satellite will monitor air quality, stratospheric ozone and solar radiation, and carry out climate monitoring.
