Northern’s “new” flexi unit trains entered revenue earning service on 17th May 2021, this being the first service stopping at Hoscar near Burscough


Cw 7605 769424 passes Hoscar 2F82 After long delays Northern’s “new” flexi trains have entered passenger carrying service on the line from and to Southport from the Manchester area. This was the second revenue earning service, the hrs departure from Wigan Wallgate to Southport seen here passing through Hoscar station between Parbold and Burscough Bridge at hrs on a misty May morning. These are electric multiple units that have been moved up from the south of the country and been reengineered with a diesel engine added to the electrical capability of the train.
