Back in April, with the "fighting season" looming, ANA medical soldiers with the 2nd Brigade, 215th Corps, Brigade Aid Station knew their BAS would need more room for casualties, as ANA Lt. Abdulhaq Ghanizadah, a physician's assistant at the BAS, said the BAS would not support the amount of casualties that will be coming through here during fighting season. The old BAS housed two beds and was about the size of two sheds that can be purchased at a home improvement store. The new BAS, completed in May, measures 25 feet by 100 feet long and includes a doctor and dentist office, two five-bed wards, a trauma room and a pharmacy. Navy Lt. Chad Scott, the 2nd Brigade Security Force Assistance Advisor Team medical officer advisor to the Afghan medics said the treatment has improved due to the new, better-organized facility.
